Bryan Adams : the New Face of Canada's Postage Stamp!

I saw this article online and really liked the humor in it... and Bryan Adams is great...

I learned through Spinner that Bryan Adams is about to get his own stamp. That's how you know you're really important in Canada, when people get to lick the back of your head…well, OK, we actually don't lick stamps anymore, they come already sticky, and does anyone ever even send letters these days? I mean besides bills and bank statements?

Maybe a more appropriate honour for the times would be your own emoticon. So then we could end our emails or texts with "C U L8ter! Kthnxbai ;)" Except, instead of the winky face it would be Bryan Adams' face. Not that I use winky faces.

Anyway, Bryan has gobs of hit singles and a Grammy Award, and has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Also on the Canadian Recording Artists stamp series are Stompin' Tom Connors, Edith Butler and Robert Charlebois. Canada Post's magazine, Details, (not to be confused with the men's fashion mag of the same name) says each star has made "remarkable contributions to the Canadian music scene."

The set of four stamps will be officially released on July 2 (though I feel like I heard this same news last year but, who knows?).

"It is a wonderful honour to be amongst the great men and women who have graced our Canadian stamps," Adams says in Details. "I am humbled by the recognition."

Two years ago Canada Post also issued stamps of Canadian musicians Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Anka and Anne Murray. I'm looking forward to the Rush stamp. Or emoticon. Or whatever.

I like Rush also. As fot the stamps, I still use paper birthday cards and mail them out. I find it more personnal and easier to stand on a table than the cybercards. Have a great day!

Hmmm...I'm not sure how I feel about licking the back of his head or will he be on a "peel and stick" model?

hahahaha LOVE it! Say...I LOVE Bryan Adams. I was def a fan of his. My mother hated him, though. Do you know how many cassette tapes I went through of his before my mother finally gave up busting them to pieces?! Seriously!

=)

I had no idea you did that in Canada. It's a cool idea! We had here in Portugal a service that made possible that you could transform pictures taken by you into stamps. That was cool too.

I like Bryan Adams. Did you know he lived in Portugal when he was a kid?:P
